I wish someone would answer this question becuase I would like to know also. There is no license associated with these clips and no contact information either. Also, checked with the copyright office and none of these show up. However the ARTS logo is plainly visible on all of the clips.

Classic Arts Showcase does not own any of the material we show. We only have the right to air them, in a clip format. Some material is commercially sold. Some is archival, and not available to the public. Some is out of print. Some is public domain (though the specific DVDs we use come from companies).

We do not (and as a private foundation enterprise can not) sell anything. But each separate clip comes from a different source. To acquire them you would have to track down the source of each clip. (We provide credit information at the beginning and end of each clip, and that's about all we can do to help people, I'm afraid. Our mission is to create a new audience for arts organizations, not help companies sell DVDs.)

Any CAS broadcasts that are seen here on archive.org are here without permission, either from us, or from the producers, owners or distributors of the content we use. We've asked archive.org to remove content before, and they've complied. Sorry, it's not that we're trying to sell anything and want commercial control, it's only that we get this content for free because we are careful how it's distributed. We worry that if people post clips on the Internet that people will stop donating content to us.

Thanks for watching. (We do apply to Direct TV every year, and will keep trying. Dish Network does carry us 24/7.)
